I'd never heard of these until this thread, so I found
their website to take a look. FYI, Roland has a clearance/
refurbish page on their website, and there's a couple of
demo-unit Stikas on it at the moment (although, I suppose,
not for much longer after this post), one for $399 and
one for one for $599. I don't have any idea how good a
deal this is.

There are several "Stika" models.  I have the old 3" wide one.  I paid
$250ish for it new.  The new ones are more like an A-size plotter with a
knife.  They are a little more versatile than the one I have.

Nice part about mine is it fits in the laptop bag!

How about a source (url or phone number) for the manufacturer?

They have a website, but I haven't been there in years.  It is the same
Roland that makes plotters and musical instruments.  They didn't have
anything about the Stika on the site back then.

Better bet is to check out the hobby sites.

http://www.rolanddga.com, although it appears to be down
at the moment...
