ROV: Ethernet Robot Camera & Motors Project

By John Coleman

Goal:

This Project has been designed for building a Robot using the 'SX52 Ethernet Board Starter Kit' as an entry into the SXList embedded ethernet starter contest.

Procedure:

  1. ) Linking (2) Motors to the SX52 Board.
  2. ) Linking an inexpensive Gameboy Camera (removed from its cartridge) also to the SX Board.

Result:

The Firmware will allow the User to Remote 'Drive' the Robot and view through the Robot Camera on a PC via an Ethernet cable.

We benefit if you read this: Think it's a cool idea to hook up a camera to a robot? What about installing a Security Camera into another area of concern? Individual security cameras are able to be obtained at affordable prices these days. So before you make a decision, shop online first!

Other Possibilities:

  1. ) Security Camera; Remount the (2) Motors as Tiltable/Rotating (X,Y) drive for the Camera.
